To plan or not to plan

To plan some aspects of our daily life is something not only quite normal, but also necessary for everyone of us. In other words,we can set up a schedule for the day, dream big dreams, design projects for the future and keep paying bills in order to maintain a certain level of comfortable life. In this process, we use all kind of tricks, stratetegies and techniques such as meditation, visualization, mantras, mental images, repetition and so on, in order to manifest our desires and make our dreams come true. However, these plans should not be considered as definite or absolute, but just as requests or suggestions presented to God without any sort of attachment, the Infinite Intelligence, to Whom the last word belongs and Who knows more than ourselves what is better for us in the present moment. If we are convinced of that, we would no longer manifest any sort of resistance, frustration, worry, anxiety or fear when things seem to not work the way we expect them to. Because doing so would simply mean we have strong attachment to the end result which, anyway,is not the end of anything at all, and believe that we are the doer. This, of course, is a big mistake because results are not our responsibility but God's, the only One in charge. Human being should understand that God, the Infinite Intelligence, which is All That Is, Is also the One willing to express Himself through us, His channels of communication and expression. This, has nothing to do with our petty egos. But, When we start personalizing this process and believe life is about us, that is where confusion and resistance begin, in the form of doubt, frustration, worry, anxiety or fear, followed by all kind of problems and difficulties. Once and for all, we must understand, as someone said, that "life is not about us, but about life itself". And, with this understanding come clarity and relief. Also, we start allowing life to flow easily through us, instead of opposing resistance against it. Think about it and... ...Stay synchronized.

The pleasure behind scarcity

In some african regions, especially in Central Africa, grows a kind of shrub whose red fruits are very much appreciated by birds of various species. However, beside loving those fruits, it seems that birds appreciate something else; the search for the search itself, for the pleasure or the fun it provides.

That is, they don't like an abundance of mature and delicious fruits, ready to be eaten, be exposed to them. What they prefer is spending time themselves searching for the good ones, using their beak, until they find and eat them with appetite. Isn't it curious to realize that instead of abundance, those birds choose scarcity?

Sometimes, certain shrubs make their fruits hatch almost all at once, turning all the branches almost into red. When this occurs, instead of rushing on such a chance and fussing around to gulp down as much fruits as they can to feed themselves till death, they avoid these shrubs and fly away; all of them ,witout exception.

Do you think that birds are the only creatures that behave like that? Not at all; even human beings do the same. Is it that the easy way does no procure as much satisfaction as the hard way? Why does what is obtained easily and without effort seem to loose its value and interest?

You can verify this in some loving relationships. For example, meeting a new person is always very exciting.   But, after a while, this excitement falls down on one side or another, when one of the two partners starts manifesting too much love for the other.

At the beginning, it's very satisfying for the ego. But, in time, it can become very ennoying for certain people who no longer look at their partner as they used to do at the beginning of their relationship. Of course, they may still love them, and consider them as an important part of their life.

However, the excitement of the first days of their relationship has vanished, no matter the number of good qualities one could have. As a result, the partner who has lost his or her excitement starts looking outside, to search  new vibrations in someone else.

Why is that? Why, instead of attracting or retaining, too much love, too much abundance, too much stuff, too much success or too much fame make us feel that way? Could it be that getting "too much" of something generates boredom and reduces our interest in certain things?

However, almost everybody would like  to get all they want in life, but not realizing the danger behind it. If you had everything you want, which is by the way impossible in this three dimentional world, for what reason would you keep living on this planet?

Remember, abundance is not what you really want, and you don't really want the outcome either. What you are really looking for, is the state excitement you achieve before the end result, or the manifestation of your desire.

What you are really looking for in any activity you are engaged in, is the fun or pleasure it provides you, and not the end result which is the death of your enthusiasm and your motivation. An old saying goes like this: "the pleasure is in the journey, and not in the destination; in the hunting, and not in the game".

That means, whatever you do, look first for the pleasure and the fun it can provide you, not the outcome. Release any attachment you could have to the end result, and let it take care of itself. Also, understand that in any entreprise lies a diamond, which is the satisfaction, the pleasure or the fun you can find in it.

Your task is to search and find it!

Think about it...

You are not your feelings or emotions

Most of the time, if not always, we are sort of possessed by our emotions or feelings. We identify ourselves with them and our behaviour becomes their reflection. So, when fear or worry come, we are fear or worry, and react accordingly.

The truth is, we are not our emotions. They just pop up as they wish, without our permission and there is nothing to do about it. But, as they cause us suffering or discomfort, we generally attempt to resist or suppress them .

But, this does not work, because we don't have the power to suppress our emotions. And as we resist them, they persist. Our emotions have their own life, not dependant of our will. What to do then to get out of their influence to us? How to deal with them so that we don't suffer anymore and be free?

First, don't try to resist your emotions. Because as you know it, what you resist persist. Second, realize that your emotions are not your ennemies, but messengers with something special to reveal you, if you listen. As long as you haven't got the message, they will keep poping up, endlessly.

For your awareness, know that the main message your emotions of fear, worry, anxiety or frustration bring you is this:

You are in danger, or threatened by something that has the power to harm you!

That is the main message of your emotions, coming from the subconscious. But, is it true?

No!

Why?

Just because, you are not there. Who you are is not the body. You are spirit, living safely in God, where your real home is. So, nothing whatsoever can ever threaten you!

Therefore, when your emotions pop up, welcome them as you'd do with a good friend of yours that bring you an important message. Then, after listening to them quietly, reassure them kindly and lovingly that you are safe in God. No danger or threat. There is nothing to fear or worry about, and that all is well.

Remember, the only person you have to control or master is yourself, not people, events or circumstances. They just pop up as they wish, and emotions related to them bubble up almost instantly.

What you have to control then, is your reaction. That is all that matters, and nothing else. You cannot have control over people, events and circumstances. Accept everything with unconditional love, without resistance, just because what is, is.

You don't have to follow the course of events or circumstances. Just be still, let them be, observe them as they come and go without any atachment. That is, let anger be, let worry be, let anxiety be, let fear be. Lovingly listen to them and reassure them, before releasing them.

As you may realize, all the process of life is about you and your relationships with everything else including people, events, circumstances and all the emotions and feelings generated from them. That's what is called life.

Laugh at your temptations

If you think that going to church once a week, or praying three or five times per day are enough and will save you from evil, you are making a big mistake. Understand that evil never sleeps, nor goes on vacation. Constant and never ending prayer, meditation and connection to God should, therefore, be your moment to moment habits.

Temptations are like traps, waiting for you at every corner of the street. But if your connection to God or the Holy Sprit is not strongly maintained, you will get trapped all the time. And the more trapped you get, the more difficult your release from the evil's web will be.

You get trapped by becoming angry, furious, sad, anxious, afraid, jalous, etc. You get trapped when you hold grievances against someone or something. You get trapped when you feel poor, abandonned, alone, or not loved, etc.

In a word, anytime you act or react negativeley to someone or something, you've got trapped. And generally, this is also followed by a negative emotion in you, that makes you feel bad. This is so because you have made an erroneous judgement which is far from the truth about this person, yourself, or this thing.

Be vigilant and alert, therefore, about all the traps that surround you. And this should not be a periodic or a from time to time endeavour. It is a permanent task. Because as long as you live, temptations will always be on your way.

There will never be a moment where you will be without them. Night and day, they are part of the illusions which you call life. One of their main objective is that once you get trapped by believing in their reality, you become also attached to them. And this attachment is at the origin of your suffering.

To have peace and happiness then, release yourself from your attachment to this shadow life by laughing at all the traps that seem to threaten you. They want you to take them seriously, through this attachment, so that you suffer and feel powerless. But instead of doing that, ignore them. See them just as the mere smoke they are.

Again, laugh at them; laugh at anything that seems to bother you and refuse to behave as they want you to do. Their objective is to make you feel trapped, prisoner and afraid. But you can set yourself free by turning your back to them.

Remember one thing. Nothing, outside of you, really exists. Every person, everything, is merely your own reflection. And if you can fight against your shadow, you can also fight with your outer life, events, people ans circumstances. The implication of this assertion is that whatever you do, you do it to yourself.

Would you like to be free and fly like a bird in the sky?

Would you like to fly, like birds in the sky, and enjoy their absolute freedom and happiness? Is it even possible to experience this kind of life on earth, considering all the problems we face on a daily basis?

Yes!

Take a balloon and a long thread for example. Fill the balloon with air and attach its mouth with one end of the thread. Then keep the other end in your hand so that the balloon could float in the air. After a moment, in case of lot of blowing air, chances are that the balloon will fly up to a certain distance, depending of the length of the thread. But, it will not go farther. Right?

Evidently, this is so because the balloon is retained by you from the thread. It would like to go far away and enjoy all this free and empty space. But, due to the resistance created by its attachment to the thread, it cannot. However, the solution is simple, although not easy: release the thread and let the balloon fly. When you do, what a joy for the balloon, and what a freedom in the sky!

A part of you is like these balloons, attached to all kind of threads that create a great resistance, preventing you from flying and enjoying the natural freedom and happiness that another part of you is currently experiencing now, in this very moment.

Yes, one part of you is strongly attached through your attention to threads such as your job, your family, your degree, your finances, your prestige, your honors, etc. As a result, it remains stuck at the same place forever.

Another part of you, which is your true Self and who you really are, is flying, in this very moment, and eternally. That is, one is attached and blocked; while another is totally free and happy. How to reconcile the two?

The solution resides in releasing your attachment and resistance from the first, by removing your attention from its symbols or belongings which, like anchors, prevent you from flying; and focusing only on your true Self with its attributes, and fly as far as you wish in the sky within.

Your success in this shift will liberate you from your captivity and make you fly.
